Permatex 262 (PTX-26250) is a permanent-strength threadlocker designed for fasteners where future disassembly is improbable - heavy vibration, shock, chemical exposure, or temperature extremes. As an anaerobic adhesive, it cures when confined between metal surfaces with air excluded, filling the entire thread engagement uniformly. Suitable for heavy equipment bolts, suspension bolts, gear bolts, railroad assemblies, construction equipment, and transmission shaft bolts (per Permatex TDS).
Locks critical fasteners against severe vibration, shock, and chemical exposure. Outperforms spring washers and mechanical locks.
Stable performance from cold-weather conditions to high-heat engine and transmission environments.
Resists engine oil, gasoline, diesel, and other automotive fluids - the right grade for hard-working maintenance environments.
Spans medium-to-large fastener sizes (10-25 mm), covering most permanent-locking needs on critical components.

Make sure the bolt and nut threads are free of oil and contamination. Degrease with cleaner if needed.
Shake the bottle and apply several drops to the bolt threads. For through-holes, apply to the female threads as well.
Assemble normally and torque to specification. Curing begins immediately as air is excluded.
Full strength is reached at room temperature in approximately 24 hours. Avoid heavy loading until cured.
