Frequently asked questions about the Valve Sense (ValveSense) LL-VS1 AI ultrasonic valve internal leak diagnostic device. Target valves, fluid compatibility, measurement procedure, minimum detection, hydrogen detection, cloud specifications and more.
A mobile inspection system that diagnoses internal valve leaks and steam trap failures on-site, using an ultrasonic (AE) sensor combined with a smartphone app.
Without removing the equipment for bench testing, you can inspect while in operation, and perform Leak/No-Leak judgment and report generation on the spot.
On/off valves (butterfly, gate, ball, plug, etc.), as well as control valves and safety valves — any type of valve can be inspected.
Any size of valve can be inspected.
Any material can be inspected.
It can be used with various fluids including water, gas, steam, compressed air, and viscous liquids.
Yes (Trap Sense mode). It diagnoses using ultrasonic and temperature measurement, classifying and displaying the state (a separate thermometer is required).
Broadly: identify the valve → measure following the app instructions (measurement points are guided) → instant display of results → automatic report generation.
Detection is not possible without at least 0.1 MPa of differential pressure.
Difference in grip ergonomics.
Standard sensor: 120°C. Stick type: 600°C, though detection accuracy decreases at high temperatures.
Whether the valve's open/close is controlled by an air or electric actuator.
Detection is possible as long as there is space to apply the sensor. For thin piping, using a stethoscope rod makes detection harder. There is no particular upper limit.
Detection is possible with at least 1 bar of pressure differential.
Leaks can be measured, but the specific location cannot be pinpointed.
Yes.
It depends on valve type, size, pressure differential, and fluid type. Cannot be generalized, but 50 mL/min of gas is the detection threshold.
No. Internet is used only for data transfer.
Seal installation is recommended. One seal supports up to 100 measurements.
Results vary each time depending on the amount of grease applied. For accurate leak rate measurement, using the seal sheet is better.
We recommend measuring about 3 times per location and finalizing when results stabilize. For the valve body, use the largest value. Instead of measuring at the exact same spot, measure about 2 times in a circular pattern around the seat area.
If the left indicator is blue, press the retry button. When it turns green, it is judged stable and input is allowed.
Yes.
Accuracy differs. Use 5-point mode as the standard.
Follow this procedure:
(1) Measure M1 and M2 on the same material area.
(2) Measure M3.
(3) Measure M4 and M5 on the same material area.
If a differential pressure is generated, there is no problem. If there is no room for flow on the secondary side, measurement is difficult.
Various data is trained during the development phase. It does not perform automatic machine learning.
