Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant (PTX-59214 / PTX-59235) is a medium-strength anaerobic sealant with PTFE for tapered pipe threads. The white creamy paste has high lubricating properties that prevent galling on pipe threads and fittings. Provides immediate low-pressure sealing and allows readjustment of fittings shortly after assembly. After 72 hours the joint is sealed to pipe burst pressure. Medium solvent resistance, withstands temperatures to 400°F (204°C). Parts may be repositioned for up to 24 hours after application. Not recommended for use on plastic piping.

PTFE Content

Anti-galling lubrication

White creamy paste with PTFE has high lubricating properties that prevent galling on pipe threads and fittings.

Vibration / Fluid Resistant

Resists leakage and loosening

Resists leakage, vibration loosening, moisture, hydraulic fluids, and diesel fuels.

Repositionable

Adjustable up to 24 hours

Parts may be repositioned for up to 24 hours after application - leaving room for alignment adjustment after assembly.

Two Sizes

Choose the right volume

Pick 6 mL (PTX-59214) for spot repairs and prototyping or 50 mL (PTX-59235) for production lines and shop stocking.

HOW TO USE

How to Use

1

Clean the threads

Remove oil, water, and any old sealant from both male and female tapered threads. Degrease with cleaner if needed.

2

Apply around the male thread

Leaving the first thread free, apply a continuous bead around the male threads. For larger fittings, apply a thin film to the female threads as well.

3

Assemble to spec torque

Tighten with standard wrenches to the proper torque. Curing begins immediately as air is excluded.

4

Pressure test

Low-pressure leak testing can be performed immediately after assembly. Allow ~24 hours before high-temperature operation, and ramp temperature gradually on first start-up.

For Cleanup
